MRC Global goes public and into the Fortune 500 with a new website and branding.

The Story

MRC Global Inc., the world’s largest distributor of pipes, valves and fitting (PVF) products and services to the energy industry, was seeking to transform itself from a collection of acquired subsidiaries to a single, unified brand. With an IPO months away, the company partnered with Epsilon to create a new website and brand identity to better target customers and investors, and create a platform that could sustain rapid growth.

We began with a comprehensive study of the competitive space and analysis of the existing MRC websites. Then established the design, imagery and tone for the new website and identity. We built a new site structure capable of serving a diverse customer base. And, from the ground up, we created a compelling user experience. To support the needs of a multinational, multilingual, and geographically distributed customer base, the site has multilingual support, and dynamically displays content by region and country.

The Results

Shortly after launching the new website, MRC went public with a $550 million IPO and entered the Fortune 500. The consolidated global website served as the focal point for introducing the company to the market.
